Guests at Pine Ridge Lodge enjoy the benefits of having their game
recovered from the kill site using 8 wheeled ATV’s. This allows for
complete recovery of your game, without the backbreaking work, and
without incurring the contamination and spoilage of meat and trophies
associated with “de-boning” on site. Your game will be
recovered “same day” and returned to our screened game care
facility where it will be hung, skinned, cleaned, quartered, and covered
in protective wrap in readiness for transport to the freezer facility.
Quick recovery, cleaning and transport to a freezer facility is
important, particularly during warm temperatures.
Upon arrival at the freezer facility, it will be hung until your
departure date, or until it is being processed by the butcher. Pine Ridge
Lodge will act as your agent in handling all butchering and shipping of
your game and trophies while you are returning to your home destination.
Full butchering services are available locally at an additional
charge. The butcher will process, package, and label your game meats in
accordance with your specifications, and will package it in styro-foam insulated waxed lined boxes in readying
for pick up by you, or for shipping.
Game shipments from Newfoundland are handled by a Newfoundland based
trucking company who provides refrigerated trucking, and who has business
arrangements for “short term” storage with freezer facilities
in various cities across the United States. Arrangements with the local
trucking company are handled by Pine Ridge Lodge on your behalf.

******** Your hunting license is being held for you at the hunting lodge.

Please note that, for all "Fly-in" hunts, ie Deer Pond and Kepenkeck
Lake , total hunting equipment must be restricted to 1 rifle or bow case,
1 military style duffel bag with belongings (50 lbs), and one
compact sleeping bag.- Total
Gear Weight (Not including Game Meat and Trophies) is 60 lbs plus
bow/rifle case.(Maximum 3 pieces of Gear.) Baggage limits in excess of
those specified will necessitate additional flights which may not be
possible on the same day as your transport to camp, and which will be
chargeable at $250.00 per flight direction. The most
common problem is too much gear. This often results in delayed delivery
of baggage by commercial airlines upon arrival in Newfoundland. Please
restrict gear to reasonable/essential levels.
REMINDER - DON'T FORGET YOUR SLEEPING BAG
IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO PURCHASE NEW FOOTWEAR OR HUNTING CLOTHING, BE
SURE TO WEAR AFIELD FOR AN ADEQUATE PERIOD OF TIME, AND SUFFICIENTLY IN
ADVANCE OF YOUR ARRIVAL DATE TO VERIFY PROPER FIT AND COMFORT LEVEL FOR
AN EXTENDED DAY OF HUNTING.
